Welcome to the Golden Gaits Equine Rescue, Inc. located in Hickory, North Carolina. Our mission is to help rescue, rehabilitate and rehome "unwanted" horses and those horses facing slaughter or the slaughter pipeline. Our focus is on the gaited horse breeds including the American Saddlebred, Hackney Pony, Tennessee Walking Horse, Arabian and Morgan but, no equine will ever be turned away. We would also like to educate the public about the current state of the horse industry in the United States, the horrors of slaughter and what can be done to help eliminate slaughter.
